How to Deploy n8n on a VPS in One Click

n8n on your own server, with the owner account created for you at install time and webhooks that work from the first minute.

n8n is the workflow automation tool people reach for when Zapier gets expensive or when the data should not leave their own server. From the Impreza catalog it installs in under a minute, and there is one setting that decides whether the install is safe: the owner password. This guide covers that, the webhook URL, and how to connect WhatsApp.

What you get

  • n8n with 400+ integrations, running as a container on your VPS
  • The owner account created at install time, so nobody else can claim the instance
  • A public hostname with HTTPS that becomes the webhook URL your integrations call
  • An optional Tor mirror, and the choice of an offshore jurisdiction

What you need

A VPS with the Impreza agent. n8n asks for about 512 MB of RAM and 3 GB of disk. Order an offshore VPS and pick n8n in the install picker at checkout, or install it later from My Apps on any server with the agent online.

Install it

Pick n8n in My Apps

Open My Apps, choose n8n from the Marketplace, and select the server.

Set the hostname first

The hostname becomes both the address you sign in at and the base of every webhook URL your workflows expose. Leave it empty for a free n8n-xxxxxx.imprezaapps.com subdomain, or type a domain you own and point its A record at the VPS before installing.

Set the owner password now

Fill in the owner name, email and password. With a password set, the agent completes the owner setup on first boot and you land on a fully configured instance. If you leave it empty, n8n shows the owner setup screen to the first person who loads the URL, and that person becomes the owner.

Install and sign in

Click install. When the card shows running, open the hostname and sign in with the owner credentials you chose. Build your first workflow; the webhook node already shows your public URL.

Optional: connect WhatsApp

Install Evolution API from the same catalog on the same server. It gives you a WhatsApp REST API with webhooks that n8n consumes directly. Keep its global API key private: it is the master key for every number you connect.

The owner password is not optional

An n8n instance without an owner is claimable by anyone who finds the URL. Set the password at install time. If you already installed without one, open the URL now and complete the setup before you share the address anywhere.

Do it from your AI agent

With the Impreza MCP connected, ask your assistant to deploy n8n on your server with a domain and an owner password. It calls impreza_deploy_catalog_app with those variables and returns the URL. Adding a Tor mirror later is one more call.

Where your workflows live

Workflows, credentials and execution history are stored in the app’s Docker volume on your VPS. Back the server up before upgrades: a snapshot from the panel, the API or your agent restores everything in one step.
