Professions that are on the rise in technology

talent search, job market, technology

The Brazilian job market faces a competitive scenario in the search for talent in technology, according to Robert Half’s new 2025 Salary Guide. Even after the period of post-pandemic expansion, which increased demand and remuneration in the sector, the market is going through a stabilization phase. The unemployment rate at historically low levels makes the competition for qualified professionals intense, and salaries reflect an accommodation movement, without indicating a slowdown in the area, according to associate director Maria Sartori.

Between positions highlighted In the guide, roles such as IT manager and back-end developer vary in salary according to seniority level. The search for qualified professionals, especially in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Information Security, is intensifying, with a strong appeal for technical knowledge and behavioral skills. “Having solid technical development and skills such as teamwork and emotional intelligence are essential differentiators for career growth,” says Sartori.

The low unemployment rate, especially among professionals with higher education, translates into an environment of “full employment” for this sector, where only 3.5% of qualified professionals are unemployed. Companies face difficulties in meeting demand and, as a result, reinforce the importance of additional certifications and proficiency in English. “This knowledge is crucial to ensure the competitiveness of candidates”, comments manager Elisa Jardim.

Another point of debate is the work model. Professionals’ preference for remote work still stands out, especially in the area of software development. However, sectors such as infrastructure and information security tend towards the hybrid model, with big techs encouraging a return to the office. “Flexibility is greater in software development, but information security demands physical presence,” points out Sartori.

Trending professions for 2025 include IT manager, back-end developer and information security coordinator, with strong demand in areas such as artificial intelligence and automation. The most valued certifications include CCNP, AWS and CompTIA, and among behavioral skills, emotional intelligence and critical thinking are increasingly in demand and difficult to find.
