Cognizant and IBM announced team up on the launch of a new Center of Excellence (CoE) to support FinOps in managing and optimizing cloud costs.
Cognizant and IBM announced the launch of a new Center of Excellence (CoE) specializing in FinOps. Uniting the two companies’ capabilities to support organizations in managing and optimizing cloud costs, architecture modernization and AI governance. The initiative built on IBM’s FinOps software. And thus it integrates with Cognizant’s cloud and development platforms, to deliver strategic solutions in critical areas for large global enterprises.
As part of this partnership, Cognizant has also expanded its Skygrade™ and Flowsource™ platforms. They, now, integrate with IBM Apptio, Turbonomic, watsonx.governance, and watsonx Code Assistant for Z. This gives companies access to advanced tools to facilitate the transition to modern architectures, improve AI governance, and optimize cloud management.
In order to address growing technological complexity, Cognizant and IBM are directing efforts in three main areas to support: mainframe modernization, FinOps and AI governance. Mainframe modernization aims to make systems more agile with Watsonx Code Assistant for Z, while FinOps seeks to optimize the use of multiple clouds, minimizing costs. AI governance is supported by watsonx.governance. And it strengthens the compliance and transparency of AI systems in companies.
Stephen Smith, from IBM, highlighted that the partnership will bring benefits to business leaders by exploring automation and AI to simplify operations and accelerate innovation. So the collaboration between IBM and Cognizant will enable companies to extend the value of their hybrid cloud environments, thus reducing costs and facilitating the adoption of more advanced technologies.
